Healthy Yard

Just a sampling of what the yard is producing this year, despite the lack of sun!

Ben saved the trumpet tree from a nasty beetle infestation.  It's back in bloom, but the battle must go on.  Those beetles mate like there is no tomorrow, and the larvae can eat more leaves than a goat.

Summer Patio

Our patio is ready for summer.  Come on over for a mojito with mint from the yard!

Summer is almost here (hopefully)

Wax Ball @ Surfy Surfy.
Summer is on it's way, assuming we get a summer this year. Maybe the water will warm up enough and we'll all have to rewax with some nice 'warm' wax instead of 'cool'!

One of the few things in life I truly hate

Weekend bikers on the Coast Highway 101.  This isn't a race or a parade.  This is just a Saturday morning.  I guess "Share the Road" doesn't apply to bikes, just cars.  Do they really need to wear Lycra so that they can bike all 30 of them strong 2 miles to the Pannikin, running stoplights and stop signs all along the way?
Come on you losers.

Spirit House

Mom got us a spirit house from Thailand.
We thought that meant you were supposed to put spirits on it.
We are actually supposed to decorate it to please the spirits that live on this little plot of land we call home.  Are there such things as trailer spirits?

It's not all fun and games in the BBV

We might be having awesome weather right now,
but let's not forget the beating we have taken this winter.

One day....

One day we'll cough up the cash and get one of these beauts.  We found this at the Estate Sale Warehouse in Oceanside for $1500.
I'd love to put a camper shell on it.  Sweet!

Mexihotel

There was just something about this arrangement that made me snap a picture.  Crooked artwork, crooked lamp, neon green wall, mismatched bedspreads.  But it was $35/night, took dogs, and had an ocean view patio and a fireplace.
You've got to love Mex.

Brewing Injury, Labels, and Bottle Caps

Resident mom to all "Mama G" had bottle caps made for the home brew.  We have yet to test them out, but we did make fridge magnets.  ABCS stands for Adam, Ben, Chris, Scott.  Mama G's daughter Erin wisely talked her out of calling it "SCAB".  Thanks Erin!

Mama G also had labels made.  Looks pretty legit eh?

It's not all fun and games here at the Trailer Park Brewing Company.  Ben got burned by nearly boiling water.  That blister got to be about 3 times that big and then he eventually and accidentally popped it when he banged his wrist on a chair.  Icky.

Festivus for the rest of us

The Festivus party was pretty exciting.  Winter Ridiculousness was the theme.
Can you tell?

Too bad you can see how awesome my slalom ski suit is in this picture.  And too bad you can't see that I have ski boots on and that I wore them all night.  The White Elephant gift exchange at the party landed Ben with 2 Mickey's 40s duct taped to his hands.  Needless to say there weren't very many pictures after this that turned out that well.

Crazy Hair Day

This is our neighbor Mitchell.  He just got his hair done for Crazy Hair Day at school the next day.  With Ben in paramedic school and me working a zillion hours a week, this is about the most exciting thing I could come up with for a blog post.
